Windows XP System File Checker - sfc.exe - How to use

Wondered where the System file checker had disappeared on my windows xp. Never used sfc in all years since I stopped using win98. Just came to know that sfc is accessible through command line. Just call windows xp system file checker from the command line and you’ll find the utility loaded up. If called without a command extension, it will display command options such as SCANNOW, SCANONCE, SCANBOOT, REVERT, PURGECACHE and CACHESIZE options of the system file checker. Once you run SFC with SCANNOW option, it will scan and evaluate the integrity of all protected windows files checking their version and file quality status same as it did on the win98.
